Mahmood recently served as head coach of the national men’s team during the T20I series against New Zealand on home soil.
The 49-year-old is also looking forward to working with Gary Kirsten, head coach of white-ball cricket, and Jason Gillespie, who will be the coach in Test cricket."Being appointed as the Assistant Head coach for all formats is an immense privilege and honor, allowing me the opportunity to serve my country once again," Mahmood said on X, formerly Twitter. "Pakistan and cricket have bestowed upon me a name and honor, and I am eager to give back what I can to the game that has given me so much. "With our combined wealth of experience and knowledge, I am optimistic about making a significant contribution to the Pakistan team. I firmly believe that perseverance, belief, and discipline are the cornerstone of a team’s growth.
